Curred hair: 5 tips to adopt
Share
With their pretty waves that make many dream, curly hair often holds its share of surprises. Frequently dry and unruly, it can sometimes be difficult to care for and tame. It tangles, becomes coarse, or doesn’t always form regular curls. So, to put an end to the whims of your curly hair, TdeM offers 5 tips to discipline and easily maintain it.
1- A brush for maintaining your curls
Because they are curly, your hair should not be styled just any way. Indeed, trying to style or detangle them carelessly will lead to nothing except breakage. Traditional brushes meant to smooth hair flat are therefore to be avoided. Instead, you should use a brush specifically for curly hair. Fitted with bristles, this brush lets you reshape your curls in just 1 or 2 strokes.
2 – Use a moisturizing milk to soften curls
The main flaw of curly hair is that it becomes dry and brittle quickly. Applying a moisturizing milk, especially after rain, helps redefine the curls gently. It’s an SOS product to keep with care everywhere, especially in case of a storm. Regarding washing, you should also use a nourishing shampoo rich in aloe vera and almond protein.
3- A specific drying method for beautiful curls
Drying your hair when you have curly hair requires a specific technique. Indeed, using a hair dryer on a hot setting is strongly discouraged. Therefore, you can use a microfiber towel or a cotton T-shirt which will naturally absorb the water from your hair. Another tip is to let them dry naturally or to use a hair dryer on a cool setting with a diffuser attachment.
4- Twist sections to soften your curls
Are your charming ringlets becoming coarse and frizzy? You can use a very simple trick to soften them. To do this, just make twists after shampooing while your hair is still curly. Simply take sections two by two, twist them around each other and secure them with an elastic band.
5- Preserve your curls while you sleep
The night is the worst nightmare for your pretty ringlets. Indeed, laying your head on the pillow will flatten your curls. To preserve their harmonious shape, avoid contact and static electricity. Use a silk scarf to cover your hair or a silk pillowcase. This material has the advantage, on the one hand, of not absorbing the treatments you might apply before bed and, on the other hand, of not lifting the cuticles, which cause tangling.
Curly hair requires specific care focused mainly on suppleness and hydration. Beyond using masks, hair oils or nourishing shampoos, you can also adopt updo styles like buns to prevent your curls from tangling.
