Comment éclaircir ses cheveux naturellement

How to lighten your hair naturally

Hair dyes are highly chemical and damaging to the hair fiber. In the long term, they can dull the hair and make it lose all its suppleness. Fortunately, there are natural solutions that replace chemical dyes and are just as effective.Lightening your hair naturally is possible and low-cost: you can take advantage of the natural coloring properties of chamomile, lemon juice, or cinnamon to lighten your hair by one or several tones without even damaging it. Here are some 100% natural recipes to lighten hair and restore shine without harming it.

Lightening your hair with chamomile flower

Did you know that chamomile is full of lightening properties for hair? You can make an infusion with chamomile flowers and apply it after shampooing.

To make a chamomile infusion, pour boiling water over the flowers and let steep for about ten minutes. For convenience, we recommend straining the mixture so you are left with only the liquid infusion. You can then apply the infusion to your hair without rinsing. Finally, for optimal results, expose your hair to the sun.

 Lemon: the ultimate miracle ingredient

If you want to give your hair a “just back from vacation” effect this summer, lemon will definitely be your best ally. Its citric acid content, a natural bleaching agent, will lighten the hair. However, citric acid can dry out your hair: to counter this risk, we recommend using a nourishing treatment before or after applying lemon to your hair: nourishing and natural treatments such as Nourishing Shampoo or Conditioner from Terre de Mars will be perfect.

To lighten your hair, you can simply mix the juice of 3 lemons with 1/4 water in a bowl and spray the mixture on your hair before leaving it in the sun (no more than 15 minutes). For a more natural effect, you can apply the mixture strand by strand and wrap them in plastic film.

Be careful, lemon is quite harsh: only perform this mixture once or twice a year at most. Lemon is still much less aggressive than chemical dyes and can be an excellent alternative if applied reasonably.

A cinnamon-based mask

The cinnamon mask is an excellent solution to naturally lighten your hair. Mixed with other ingredients like honey or argan oil, cinnamon allows your hair to be nourished and lightened at the same time. Before choosing cinnamon to lighten your hair, check that you tolerate this ingredient and that it does not irritate your scalp. To do this, you can apply a small amount to your scalp and wait to see the effects: if it itches or irritates you, do not try to apply the mask to your hair.

  • Cinnamon and water mask

Mix cinnamon powder with mineral water until you obtain a paste. Then apply the paste to damp hair for at least 5 hours. You can leave the mask on overnight, wrapping your hair with a towel or using a shower cap for more effectiveness.

  • Cinnamon, honey and argan oil mask

Mix one tablespoon of ground cinnamon with 4 tablespoons of honey and one tablespoon of argan oil. Then apply the mixture to damp hair: to distribute the mask evenly through the hair, you can use a comb. For maximum effectiveness, you can leave the mask on overnight.

  • Cinnamon in your conditioner

You can mix one tablespoon of ground cinnamon with a small amount of your conditioner. You can then apply your conditioner mixed with cinnamon to damp hair and leave it on all night.

Lightening your hair naturally proves to be a very interesting option for respecting your hair fiber, and also for your budget! Indeed, lightening your hair with homemade masks will cost you less than a salon service, and you will see a noticeable difference in the texture of your hair: more beautiful and stronger hair than with a chemical dye. Fortunately, natural and organic dyes are becoming increasingly popular, and some hairdressers may offer natural dyeing services in their salon: for those who like to be pampered in a salon, this alternative is ideal!
